I have now had the time to undress the Gigoteur which works perfectly. I couldn't be more delighted with her. She is even more beautiful than in your excellent photos (if that is possible!) .. a gorgeous, earliest example of that model doll. The painting of her face is exquisite and finely done with a beautiful expression. Her legs and arms which are so highly detailed, as is the torso, are those of the earliest models. (I have the Dorothy McDonagle book which carefully describes the different periods.) She is a joy to look at and to own !! Certainly one of the brightest stars in my collection which, though modest, includes a Jumeau Triste, EJ Jumeau, and Steiner Figure C, as well as a beautiful early Fashion Jumeau.
If your shop dressed her, you must thank those responsible. (Would that be Sally Freeman ?). The Gigoteur's dress, bonnet and underpinnings are so beautifully made and they set off her beauty perfectly.
Lastly, Rachel, I must thank you for your timely and helpful answers to my many questions. I know that international purchases can be difficult as the high cost of Customs and shipping often preclude the return of a doll which doesn't meet expectations. You enabled me to be sure that I wouldn't be disappointed. Your patience and kindness made this purchase one I will remember.

Also, I wanted to say how wonderful I think she is. This is my first Lenci doll, tho' I have wanted one for many years. Just looked at my emails and saw the one about your party. We were having a storm and doubted that we would be able to go, but the good Lord had the sun come out on Sat. morning and off we went. Had a good time. Thought I'd see you there. The little Barrois doll is really pretty in the big cabinet with the fashion with her trunk and all her clothes. Along with those 2 there is a littler Rohmer and a beautiful wood bodied fashion almost as tall as the one I got from you. In the cabinet also is the beautiful chaise and a special screen that's embossed die cut paper of cats. It was from Maureen Popp's collection.
So, what will be the doll you will feature in your next ad? They get a good home here and seem happy.

Rachel you really outdid yourself! What a fabulous packing job!! I am thrilled to pieces with the doll and the gift set. What a wonderfully preserved vintage set. i am just really really pleased. I had a big grin on my face while looking at everything. and the Betsy...oh my word what a pristine doll she is! Just to die for!
My only disappointment in all of this is that the eBay feedback form doesn't allow me more room to sing your praises on this transaction. I wanted to add something about "this is a seller who really knows how to pack!!" You made sure there was no way that the original box would be damaged!
After making this purchase I saw some other awesomely tempting things come up on eBay that i passed on since i spent the mother load on this set. And one always hopes they made the right choice, you know what I mean? but when this arrived i knew i had definitely made the better purchase!

I was finally able to visit your shop there the week after the UFDC convention. I want to say that Stan helped me. He was very nice and VERY patient, since I must have been there for 2-3 hours! I ended up buying a small Uncle Sam and a couple other little things. Could have easily spent 10s of thousands, but my bank account would not hold up!
Also, Bevin was very helpful to me and made recommendations on some Shirley Temple repair. She steered me toward the Toy and Miniature Museum in Kansas City, which I loved.
So all in all I had a great experience at Turn of the Century Antiques and I will return when we come back to the Denver area.
